We simply cannot stop oozing information about ourselves and about our thoughts and motivations to the world around us. We are broadcasters in the fullest sense of the word. Our movements, facial gestures and body posture as well as our odor and skin tone and our sense of timing and the clothes we choose to wear and more betray what we hide.
Conversely, we pick up unbelievable amounts of information about others which we have trained ourselves not to notice or to be insensitive to. We end up with a society of facades wondering why we so rarely experience the true vitality possible of being with other people.
i have noticed that when I am responsible for where my words come from, the effect on others is always positive and uplifting. I think this practice Robert teaches is effective because it locates ones Presence as the primary source of power, not in any other person or time. One’s intentions become clearer and in alignment with a deeper place
This is why Intention is the Fourth Dimension, right in the middle of the mix, because a clear intention can always overcome initial setbacks and awkwardness in a conversation. When a person takes responsibility for where he is coming from, he makes course corrections on the fly. Oops! Those words fell flat. How can I more clearly express what I want him or her get? A communication glitch can also be an opportunity for me to re-examine my intention! Hmm. Maybe I had some ulterior or unconscious agenda that colored what I said.
