Somewhere along the line, perhaps many places, we decided it wasn’t safe to be honest and unguarded and frank. We got the message loud and clear that there was something wrong with us even though we were never sure quite what it was. Recovering trust in our natural individuality and trusting our natural ability to relate with others is a long process of unraveling years of untruths about who we are. And the process is totally worth the work.
